Volcano Irazu

On a bendy road, passing by miscellaneously cultivated fields our transportation will take you up to the height of 3.432m above sea level to the crater of the “Volcano Irazú” volcano. An amazing view is guaranteed on days with clear sky over the main crater as well as over the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean.

Just don´t forget to take warm cloths because on the highest volcano of the country there might be an icy cold wind.
Let´s continue with a spectacular trip to Cartago, Costa Rica´s former capital located at the bottom of the volcano. There we are going to discover the “Basílica de la Virgen de los Àngeles”, that annually attracts thousands of believers, that pilgrimage to Cartago in order to pray and to thank the blessed Virgin Mary for her miracles.

Another highlight will be the great Lankester Garden Tour. More than 800 species of orchids and uncountable further plants enchant visitors with their blaze of colours.

Furthermore, we planned a trip the Orosi- valley for you. Surrounded by beautiful green nature, you will find one of the few well-maintained temples that date back to colonial times. After a delicious meal in a nearby restaurant the tour will slowly end in the rustic “dreamerhouse”, example for primitivistic Costa-Rican art.
